In order to play in the majority of VGA sponsored events or any New England area regional or state event, you must have a valid, updated GHIN handicap!

In order to participate in the majority of VGA tournaments, players are required to have a valid, active GHIN handicap.  Handicaps are updated twice a month - on the 1st and 15th. Although your home course may activate you on a given day, your handicap won't become active in the GHIN system until the next revision period on the 1st or 15th - the next one immediately following the day you are activated at your club. Please be aware of this when planning your summer golf schedule.

Handicap activation is done by your home club - the VGA does not activate handicaps!

Please plan accordingly!

If you don’t have a handicap and would like to learn more about establishing one,  click here.

Attention all Lakeside Members!

An active GHIN handicap is a requirement for on-line registration.

Please check with your home club to make sure your handicap is active before trying to register for any events.  Some clubs automatically inactivate all of their members during the winter months, so if you are having trouble registering, that is probably the reason why!
Contact your home club and ask them to activate your handicap!

Now is a good time to review and update your profile!

Score Posting Active Season

The active season for posting scores shot in Vermont ended on October 31st. Any scores shot in Vermont after this time and before April 15, 2017 are not eligible for posting for handicap purposes because the condition of many of the Northern courses are not the same as they would be during a typical golf season.

Scores shot in states that are still in an active golf season (i.e. the Carolinas, Florida, etc.) can and should be posted during this period. You can post those scores either by going to www.ghin.com or by posting it from the GHIN Mobile App. For more information, visit the handicap section at www.usga.org

Welcome Aaron Mullen - 2017 PJ Boatwright Intern

Aaron Mullen grew up on the local Vermont links while attending Hartford High School where he represented Vermont in the Julian Cup.  With great help from the Vermont Golf Association Scholarship, he studied Sustainable Product Design and Innovation at Keene State College in New Hampshire.  When he is off the course Aaron has a passion for design, travel, and photography.  After spending some time in the graphic design field, Aaron has rejoined the golf industry with our 2017 P.J. Boatwright Internship.

No matter the season - spring, summer or autumn, golf in Vermont is always spectacular.  From quiet meadows to spectacular mountain views, every round will delight the senses!
